Privacy
A plain-language privacy policy for how briefly.sh works.
briefly.sh exists to host and share HTML pages with as little friction as possible. This page explains what data we use to run the product, why we need it, and the control you keep over what you upload.

We wrote this to be readable first. It explains the practical rules around using briefly.sh and how we handle data.
In short
- We collect the minimum account and upload information needed to run the service.
- Your uploaded files are stored privately and only served according to the visibility settings you choose.
- Billing is currently disabled; if it returns, Stripe will handle payment details and we will not store raw card information on our servers.
- You can delete uploaded pages from the dashboard, and we use short-lived cookies only for essential access flows.
Scope
What we collect
We collect information you provide directly, plus a small amount of operational data generated by using the product.
- Your account identity, such as your email address and authentication details from Supabase.
- The HTML files and related metadata you upload, including file size, title, visibility, expiration settings, and view counts.
- Subscription metadata, such as Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, only if billing is restored and you use paid features.
- Essential request information used for security and abuse prevention, such as rate-limit checks and temporary access cookies.
Purpose
How we use that information
We use your information to operate briefly.sh, not to build advertising profiles or track you across the web.
- To authenticate you, host your uploaded pages, and serve them according to your visibility settings.
- To support previews, password-protected links, expiring pages, and basic page view counting.
- To manage subscriptions and verify billing state only if billing is restored.
- To communicate important service or account-related updates when needed.
Lifecycle
Storage, retention, and deletion
Uploaded content is stored in cloud infrastructure connected to briefly.sh. We retain that content until you delete it, it expires according to your chosen settings, or the account relationship ends.
Preview pages are designed to be temporary and expire automatically. Permanent pages remain available until you remove them. When you delete a page from the dashboard, we remove the associated record and attempt to remove the stored file as part of the same product flow.
If you want your account itself removed, email support and we can help with the account-level cleanup process.
Infrastructure
Service providers
We rely on a small number of service providers to operate the product.
- Authentication, database, and file-storage providers that let us run accounts and host uploaded content.
- Payment processors that handle billing and subscription events only if paid features are restored.
- Hosting, delivery, and network providers that keep the application available and performant.
These providers may process data only as needed to perform their role in delivering the service.
Control
Your choices
You stay in control of what gets uploaded and how it is shared.
- You can choose whether a page is public, password-protected, private, or temporary preview content.
- You can delete hosted pages from your dashboard at any time.
- You can contact us if you need help with account deletion or privacy-related questions.
