Terms

Straightforward terms for using briefly.sh responsibly.

These terms describe what briefly.sh provides, what you can expect from us, and the rules for using the service without creating risk for other users or the platform.

Effective

March 30, 2026

We wrote this to be readable first. It explains the practical rules around using briefly.sh and how we handle data.

Key points

  • You keep ownership of the HTML content you upload, and you grant us only the limited rights needed to host and serve it.
  • You may not use briefly.sh for malware, phishing, unlawful content, or attempts to bypass access controls.
  • The current product is free to use; if paid plans return, checkout and subscription terms will be shown before purchase.
  • The service is provided on an as-is basis, and we may suspend abusive or risky usage to protect the platform.
01

Product scope

What the service does

briefly.sh lets you upload HTML files and share them through hosted links. Depending on your plan and settings, those links can be public, password-protected, private, expiring, or temporary preview links.

We may add, remove, or refine features over time, but the core purpose of the product is straightforward: reliable delivery of hosted HTML content.

02

Security

Accounts and access

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity that occurs under it. Use accurate account information and keep your sign-in method secure.

If you believe your account has been compromised or used without authorization, contact us as soon as possible so we can help secure it.

03

Rules

Acceptable use

You may not use briefly.sh to host, distribute, or facilitate content or behavior that puts users or the service at risk.

  • Malware, phishing pages, credential theft, or deceptive impersonation.
  • Illegal content, infringing material, or material you do not have the right to distribute.
  • Attempts to bypass rate limits, access controls, or private content restrictions.
  • Automated or abusive usage that degrades the product for others.

We may remove content, limit functionality, or suspend access when necessary to enforce these rules or protect the platform.

04

Ownership

Your content

You retain ownership of the content you upload. By uploading it to briefly.sh, you grant us a limited right to store, process, and serve that content solely for operating and improving the service.

You are responsible for making sure your content is lawful, accurate, and safe to distribute.

05

Commercial terms

Plans and billing

briefly.sh is currently available without a paid subscription. If paid features are restored, they will be processed through Stripe and the terms displayed at checkout will control over older marketing copy.

  • Any restored subscription will renew according to the billing interval shown at purchase.
  • If you cancel a restored subscription, paid access continues until the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise at checkout.
  • Refund requests, if any, are handled case by case.
06

Operations

Availability and changes

We aim for a stable service, but we cannot promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, infrastructure failures, or third-party outages may affect performance or access.

We may update the product or these terms over time. When terms change materially, the updated version on this page becomes the controlling version going forward.

07

Important

Liability limits

briefly.sh is provided on an as-is and as-available basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every use case.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the service, including loss of content, revenue, goodwill, or access.

Questions

Questions before you ship something important?

If a workflow, billing edge case, or content policy question is unclear, ask before you rely on it. We would rather answer a specific question than have you guess.
